Interpreting Sleep Reports
Instructor: Drs. Audrey Yoon & Umakanth Katwa
As sleep-tracking technology becomes more accessible—from clinical polysomnography to consumer devices like the Oura Ring—healthcare providers are increasingly tasked with interpreting varied sleep data. In this session, Dr. Umakanth Katwa, Director of the Sleep Program at Boston Children’s Hospital, shared practical strategies for reading both clinical and at-home reports, recognizing key sleep metrics, and applying findings to real patient cases. With a focus on pediatric sleep medicine, the session highlighted how dental and medical teams can collaborate to diagnose and manage sleep-related breathing disorders.
